Stony Brook University’s Academic Survey Research Center seeks full-time
Assistant Director.
Responsibilities:
Oversee operation of Survey Research Lab and projects. Manage personnel, write questionnaires and reports, and generate revenue.
Required:
Master’s degree in the social sciences or a related field to ensure familiarity with statistics, data analysis, social science report writing, and the importance of sampling and quality control
at all stages of the survey process. At least five years of full-time related professional-level experience to include survey research.
In addition to a formal understanding of statistics, sampling, and the survey
process, the incumbent must know how a CATI software program operates, the
ways in which to ensure a high response rate, typical problems encountered in the day-to-day running of a survey lab, the timing of survey projects, and their costs. Strong PC skills (Word/Excel) are essential as is supervisory experience.
