Description:
This position is under the supervision of the Director of the Child and Adolescent Health
Measurement Initiative (CAHMI) and on a project-basis, under supervision of senior-level CAHMI staff. This position will be responsible for the implementation of child health services research and quality improvement projects and project assistance to senior-level CAHMI staff. All work conducted will support the mission, goals and objectives of OHSU, Department of Pediatrics and the School of Medicine, and the CAHMI. Specifically, the position will focus on consumer-based and consumer-centered quality measurement and improvement strategies aiming to improve child/teen health and health care quality.

 

The position will focus on:

1) design and implementation of consumer-centered quality measures
2) design and implementation of consumer-centered quality improvement strategies with
front-line health care providers and consumers and

3) strategic dissemination of the findings from these activities to inform policies at the national, state, plan, and provider-level. This position will work with various stakeholders, including consumers, health care providers, health plans, State Medicaid agencies and national organizations focused on child healthcare quality. FTE is flexible, between .8 and 1.0

Required Qualifications:

Research Associate:

Masters Degree in public health, health services management, health care policy analysis or related field. Education must have included a course on quality measurement and improvement methods or equivalent.

 

Sr. Research Associate:

Doctorate degree in relevant field. Further Requirements: Experience and knowledge about quality measurement processes. Includes design, methods for implementation and reporting of the findings. Includes experience designing and/or evaluating the validity, feasibility, reliability and communication of standardized quality measures useful for monitoring and improving health care quality. Includes 3 - 5 years of experience working with a standard statistical software library (e.g. SPSS, SAS, STATA, however the preferred program is SPSS) and ACCESS and application of univariate, bivariate and multi-variate analyses as well as with assisting in the design of data anlaysis protocols.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced training on quality improvement methods. Doctoral degree in public health or health services management, health care policy analysis or related field. Research experience specific to consumer-centered health care quality measurement and/or improvement methods. Specific experience working with front-line health care providers and health systems on quality measurement activities.
