Tuition and Financial Aid
We encourage students to seek out individual scholarships, grants and fellowships from organizations supporting students in the fields covered within QMSS in addition to applying for governmental aid.
QMSS offers two forms of financial support. The first is the QMSS Research Fellowship and the second is the Mitofsky Fellowship for students interested in political science.
The process of application for the two above scholarships will begin each spring once students have been accepted. All accepted students will be offered the opportunity to apply for all scholarships-please watch for our email about this after receiving your acceptance!
See the Graduate School website for the latest information about tuition and fees as well as loans and financial aid. Loans are available to students who are enrolled at least half time.

Mitofsky Scholarship
The Mitofsky Scholarship grants a financial stipend toward tuition for students interested in the quantitative methodology of Political Science. This scholarship was created to honor Warren Mitofsky who taught for QMSS. This scholarship is available to all QMSS students including those participating in the MGSP program (see below).Mayors Graduate Scholarship Program
QMSS has recently joined other academic institutions around the city to provide scholarships to students currently working for the City of New York. While we are working to expand these scholarship offerings, we currently offer the Mitfosky Scholarship in conjunction with this program.
QMSS applications are on a different timeline than the MGSP. We encourage applicants to complete their MGSP application in the fall to apply for QMSS in the following spring.
For students interested in the joint degree program (MA/MPA) please remember that scholarship monies only apply to the portion of study within GSAS.
