Steven Hubbard

Steven Hubbard, Ph.D. is a Senior Data Scientist at the American Immigration Council, where he leads research and data visualization projects focused on immigration policy and demographic change. Most recently, he was a Zolberg Fellow with The New School and the International Rescue Committee, conducting research on Syrian refugees living in Jordan.

With a long-standing interest in photography and design, he brings a strong visual sensibility to his work, using data visualization to communicate complex social issues and support evidence-based decision making.

Dr. Hubbard has over 20 years of experience in college teaching, research, and academic administration, with prior appointments at New York University, the University of Iowa, and Hamline University. He began his professional career as a city planner working with local governments in rural southwest Iowa.
